Imagine riding a train and suddenly spotting a massive banner hanging above your head. It might look simple—but working at height is often much more complicated. And that was exactly the case with our recent installation in Polička.
We were tasked with mounting a 3 × 2.3 m advertising banner on a tall industrial silo located directly next to a railway line and close to a level crossing. A true challenge—and one we welcomed.
Working at Height in Demanding Conditions
As with any high-altitude project, safety and technical measures are essential. The area around the silo had to be secured to prevent access by unauthorized persons and to protect our team.
We were literally working above train tracks—there was no room for error.
Access? Nearly Impossible. But Not for Us.
The biggest obstacle: the silo roof overhung the wall by more than a meter, making access from above or outside impossible. A platform lift wasn’t feasible either—it would require heavy and expensive equipment due to space constraints.
Where others might see a dead end, we found a solution.
Smart Solution: Anchoring Through the Roof Eaves
We drilled small holes through the soffit and fed work ropes into the building interior. Inside, we secured anchor points to roof beams—reliable and safe. This gave us a secure position to descend and install the banner.
Banner Installation: The Final Touch
Once access and anchors were ready, the banner installation itself took about three hours. The banner was tightly stretched and secured to withstand wind and weather—perfectly visible to everyone passing by.
What This Project Taught Us (and Why It Matters to You)
Every high-access job is unique. In Polička, we showed our ability to adapt, problem-solve, and deliver—safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality.
